TRAVELKID supports the organization Our Responsibility because we strongly believe that tourism can have a positive impact on society. Responsible tourism in South Africa not only allows us to experience the unique wildlife, but it also actively contributes to giving children a chance at a better future.
By engaging in projects that offer children education and opportunities, we are not only supporting the protection of nature but also safeguarding these young people from the seductive dangers of wildlife crime. By promoting this initiative as a tour operator, we enable our guests to travel in a meaningful way—while giving back something that goes beyond just adventure.
Our Managing Director, Patrice Kragten, had the opportunity to personally take part in a course with Tracker Guide Tsundzukani Hlongwane and experienced firsthand the extent of the poaching problem in South Africa. During the course and her visit to the Anti-Poaching Unit K9, she was able to witness how crucial it is to guide young people in the right direction and provide them with opportunities that steer them away from the dangerous influence of poachers.
Our goal is to have a long-term, positive impact in the regions we travel to, ensuring both the protection of animals and the welfare of children. Through training as a Tracker Guide, Patrice became a valuable ambassador for animal protection. This experience has further emphasized to us as a company how critical it is to support projects like Our Responsibility. Through this partnership, we aim to raise awareness for the protection of nature and children, and help safeguard the next generation from the tempting paths of poachers.
